Simple ways to reduce air pollution
Emission of hazardous gases, contaminated air, and causes air pollution. Burning fossil fuels and waste, vehicle emission and rottening of waste in landfill are the major causes of air pollution. Five major pollutants, according to the Clean Air Act, are grouped level ozone, particulate matter, including PM 2.5 and PM 10, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide ,and nitrogen dioxide. Around seven million people are affected due to these pollutants. Most people are facing respiratory problems because of bad levels of air quality index (AQI). AQI tells about the air pollution level, which is falling at a very fast rate in India. In this, we have an urgent need to the ways we can reduce air pollution. So in this blog, we will discuss ways to reduce air pollution.

Avoid burning
Avoid burning as much as you can; also, fuel are the main sources of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen dioxide in the air. We can't avoid using fossil fuels totally because it ends our basic needs, but we can surely reduce it and find other alternatives to fulfill our needs. We can avoid burning waste instead composting it, recycling it, and reusing it. Burning off firecrackers release a lot of toxic particles in the air.
Composting
Composting is the method of breaking down food waste into soil. Food waste, when thrown into a landfill, doesn't break down and produces methane gas, which results in air pollution.

Reduce vehicle emission
Simple ways to reduce air pollution |
Vehicle emission is a major factor of carbon dioxide in the air. We can reduce air pollution from cars by switching to public transport, or by cycling for short distances. We can carpool with our companions to travel to the same destination. Regular cleaning and servicing of personal transport is mandatory for clean airflow.
Save electricity
Electricity is being generated using fossil fuels. Wasting electricity result in unnecessary emissions of CO2.So turn off that extra light, fan, and other electrical appliances next time.
Switch to clean electricity
You can go for solar and wind electricity in India. There are so many powerhouses running on solar and wind energy. Solar panels are a one-time investment and provide clean electricity. There are even other options after solar energy which you can explore. There are even solar-powered vehicles and appliances that work on solar energy.
Quit smoking
smoking releases smoke in the air, which is harmful on inhalation not only for the smoker but also for the surrounding people.
Plant trees
Trees maintain the balance in our environment. Trees are being cut down constantly at a very fast rate. This disturbs the balance. Planting more trees would help reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and increase the amount of oxygen. At least a tree should be planted in each house to clean out the air of that house.
Reduce, reuse, and recycle
Reduce the amount you use, reduce consumption, and recycle things as much as you can and reuse things you have. This will lead to less production in factories, resulting in a lesser commission from the factories. Industries are one of the main causes of air pollution. The more we consume, the more industries produce.
Maintain appliances
Repair your AC filter, maintain all electrical appliances to make them energy efficient. Using energy-efficient appliances and fitting smoke filters in vehicles are some ways to maintain appliances in a way that lessens the harm associated with them.
